As part of the Australian government's appeal for foreign policy recommendations, CANZUK International has submitted freedom of movement proposals for Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom to the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade.

In December 2016, the Australian Department for Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) requested public submissions for a future Foreign Policy White Paper to be published later in 2017. The paper would be the first conducted by Australia since 2003, and provide "a comprehensive framework to guide [Australia's] international engagement over the next five to ten years".
According to the DFAT website, the White Paper "will provide a roadmap for advancing and protecting Australia’s international interests and define how we engage with the world in the years ahead".
As such, CANZUK International has submitted policy proposals to DFAT and Members of the Australian Parliament requesting that freedom of movement between Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom be implemented as part of the country's existing free movement arrangements with New Zealand.
Under the recommendations submitted, Australia would grant the accession of Canada and the United Kingdom to the Trans-Tasman Travel Agreement (TTTA), granting free movement for citizens between the CANZUK nations while also upholding security protocols existing under the TTTA to prevent cross border criminal activity, terrorism and social-welfare fraud.

CANZUK International's White Paper proposals will also be featured on the Foreign Policy White Paper website, where the Australian government will consider all proposals submitted for adoption within official Australian foreign policy in the coming months.
